A look at Festival du Voyageur's killer music lineup
From BeaverTails and caribou to ice sculptures and the Wild Winter Canoe Race, there’s a lot to love about Festival du Voyageur. But over the years, one of the annual highlights has become the festival’s live concert series.
Featuring a collection of artists as talented as they are diverse, the lineup is always stacked with the hottest local acts and covers music in every genre – and this year is no exception.
Justin Townes Earle will perform at the Voyageur Trading Post Feb. 18.
In all, FDV will stage more than 150 artists, most of them from right here in Manitoba. Opening day alone features sets by Quinton Blair, The White Doves, Ponteix, À La Mode, Duotang, D.Rangers, Leanne Pearson, Tyler Del Pino, Sweet Crude, Begonia, and Mahogany Frog.
In addition to dozens of free shows onsite, Club St-B, Le Garage, Mon Ami Louis, Stella’s Au CCFM, The Wood Tavern & Grill, and the King’s Head Pub will host evening concerts throughout the festival.
This year’s edition also features ticketed concerts showcasing Justin Townes Earle (Feb. 18) and Quebec sensation Klô Pelgag, who will perform with Manitoba’s own Faouzia (Feb. 17).
Other notable local acts at this year’s festival include Atlaas, Attica Riots, Bright Righteous, Dirty Catfish Brass Band, Lanikai, Leonard Sumner, Little Miss Higgins, Mariachi Ghost, Micah Erenberg, Mise en Scene, Mobina Galore, Moon Tan, Oh My Darling, Rayannah, Red Moon Road, Roger Roger, Royal Canoe, Sc Mira, Solhounds, Sweet Alibi, The Noble Thiefs, Vikings, William Prince and Yes We Mystic.
