A New Brewery Is Opening In West Broadway / Wolseley This Summer

Up until a few years ago, local beer options were limited at best. But thanks to breweries like Torque, Barn Hammer, Little Brown Jug and others popping up around the city, Winnipeg’s craft beer scene is on a roll. And it’s about to get even better.

Bordering the popular Wolseley and West Broadway neighbourhoods, Kilter Brewing will open up shop at 80 Sherbrook Street this summer. Their new neighbours include local gems like Thom Bargen, Bistro Dansk, Boon Burger and the Waltz On In barbershop.

“We can’t wait to join all our future neighbours in what we think is one of the most inclusive, laid-back, and artistic neighbourhoods in our city. We love this community so much and look forward to being part of the soul that makes this area so charming.” – Kilter Brewing

After passively seeking the perfect location for years, the owners finally found the off-the-market spot on Sherbrook almost a year ago and immediately knew it was home.

“We’ve luckily hit a sweet spot. We have an awesome location, great landlords, a good space to work with, and a fair lease price.” – Kilter Brewing

Kilter will get the keys April 1 and roll out their opening in two phases.

The first will be on-site beer production and a “small makeshift taproom” as early as this summer, with their “super-legit street-front taproom following suit shortly after.”

We, for one, are looking forward to another local spot to tip back a few cold ones. Cheers to supporting local!
