And this year's Le Burger Week Winners Are ...

All great things must come to an end – even Le Burger Week.

Since it began back in 2012, Le Burger Week has become one of Winnipeg’s favourite culinary festivals. Based on the simple (and simply delicious) premise of discovering the city’s best burgers, it’s an opportunity for people to try feature burgers from restaurants all across the city and vote for their favourites.

This year’s edition (Sept. 1-7) was the biggest yet, featuring burgers from more than 100 Winnipeg restaurants. And now, after seven days of indulgence, Le Burger Week has announced our city’s winning restaurants.

With a burger called Farmer Jon, Le Burger Week rookies Brazen Hall Kitchen & Brewery won the People’s Choice Award. Staying true to Brazen Hall’s Manitoba roots, the burger featured a beef and farmer sausage patty (Pioneer, of course), hand-picked/house-made blueberry maple ketchup, sassy mustard, Trappist cheese, Crown Royal mushrooms, stout-braised onions, arugula, and their Brazen bacon.

Second place went to Kyu Grill (Reset Interactive Ultralounge) …

Followed by Nuburger (Kenaston) …

And then another entry from Nuburger (The Forks) …

Deer + Almond’s Let Us Taco Bout Burgers Next Week was voted No. 5, and also won the award for Most Creative Burger.

Sherbrook Street Delicatessan took home the Judge’s Choice Award, thanks to their Slick Rick burger.

And, finally, The Roost on Corydon’s Little Foot burger was named Le Burger Week’s Healthiest Burger.

Looking at the winners, it’s easy to see why this year’s Le Burger Week was so popular. But as great as the lineup was, the true winners were Winnipeg foodies. We’re already looking forward to Le Burger Week 2018.
