Banana Boat Ice Cream is Back With a Brand New Location
If you live in Winnipeg and you like ice cream, you remember the iconic blue Banana Boat shop in South Osborne. You also remember, with heavy hearts, their closure in June 2017.
And while the space at 390 Osborne has since been taken over by Chaeban, a pretty spectacular ice cream joint in its own right, Banana Boat is back with a new location in St. Vital.
Located at 166 Meadowood Drive, Banana Boat 2.0 is serving up some of the best soft serve in the city, not to mention 16 flavours of hard ice cream (including a few sugar-free options) and – of course – their famous milkshakes, sundaes and banana splits.
They’re also taking things to the next level with their rolled ice cream, which comes in flavours like blueberry, strawberry and matcha.
While the new shop has been open since the end of May, Banana Boat is celebrating its Grand Opening from June 15-17. In addition to free small cones on Saturday (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.), they’re giving a free toy to the first 300 children under the age of 10.
