Local celebrities set to take the stage for RWB's Nutcracker
One of Winnipeg’s favourite winter traditions is returning with a tradition of its own this December.
Every year, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet invites notable locals to join the RWB Company and School dancers onstage in Nutcracker walk-on roles. This year, the classic Christmastime ballet will feature a total of 17 (and counting) special guests from Dec. 21-30 at the Centennial Concert Hall.
The celebs include TSN reporter Sara Orlesky (Dec. 22), local fashion designer Lennard Taylor (Dec. 21), New Democratic Party MLA Nahanni Fontaine, and Juno-award winning musician David Landreth of The Bros. Landreth (Dec. 30). The Winnipeg Jets will also be represented, with Adam Lowry and Dmitry Kulikov making cameos on Dec. 28.
David Landreth of the Bros. Landreth will make a Nutcracker cameo on Dec. 30.
As always, the RWB’s Nutcracker will be danced to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, as performed by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
Tickets start at $29 for adults and $25 for children (plus taxes and fees). For a full list of guests, showtimes, and more, visit the Royal Winnipeg Ballet online.
