Sip Your Way Through The Exchange During Hot Beverage Week
Hot Beverage Week is back in the Exchange District, and not a moment too soon.
It’s almost time for you to decide who’s got the meanest mug in the Exchange District! Starting Friday, Hot Beverage Week is back, featuring an array of warm concoctions served up by the area’s best baristas and bartenders. With a different flavour for each day of the week, try them all, then come back to vote when you’ve found your favourite! Check our blog for details.
From Dec. 7-14, seven of the area’s top cafes and restaurants will be serving up signature concoctions designed specifically by their bartenders and baristas to warm your belly, soothe your soul and otherwise make you forget about the frightful weather outside. With a chilly few days in the short-term forecast, the timing couldn’t be better.
This year’s participating businesses include Miss Browns, Cordova, Amsterdam Tearoom, Forth, Across The Board, Alycia’s and Parlour. Photos of all seven entries are below.
Miss Browns: Spiked Salted Praline Latte
This sweet and salty concoction features Rimmed Praline, Baileys Salted Caramel, a double espresso shot, steamed milk, and nutmeg syrup.
Cordova: Vanilla, Limencello, Bergamot Latte
This velvety smooth bergamot latté is all sorts of warming. With the addition of vanilla vodka & limencello to an already comforting flavour experience (also available with almond milk ).
Amsterdam Tearoom: Liquid Gold
Liquid Gold is made of cherry Tumeric Green Tea, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Jeremy’s secret spices, almond milk, and Speculaas Cookie.
Forth: Rosemary Ginger Latte
This wintery drink contains: espresso, rosemary ginger syrup and steamed milk, and is topped with a snowy dusted pizelle.
Across The Board: The Window Scraper
The perfect reward for facing those frigid December mornings. With Bacon-infused Bulleit Bourbon, maple syrup, espresso and butter, it’s an all-day breakfast in a mug.
Alycia’s: Hot Salty Turtle
This decadent drink contains Baileys Salted Caramel, coffee, whipping cream drizzled with butter ripple schnapps and a chocolate turtle on the side.
Parlour: Good Merning Mocha
You put the orange rind in, you take the chunky bits out,
You put the ginger in, you take the chunky bits out,
You pour that syrup over espresso and you shake it all around, that’s what The Mern’s about.
You steam some chocolate up, you pour some chocolate down,
You top it up with orange zest to bring the flavours out, that’s what The Mern’s about.
