The Great Manitoba Food Fight Shows Love For Local Entrepreneurs
Food fights are fun. Food fights with prizes are even better.
Every year, the Great Manitoba Food Fight invites local food and beverage entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative product ideas to a panel of judges. The best pitchers win prize packages to help develop and launch their products.
This year’s competition went down on Sept. 20 at De Luca’s Specialty Food Store. Winners were selected by a panel of industry experts, who sampled the goods and assessed the strength of the entrepreneurs’ business pitches.
Piña Romolo of Piccola Cucina took home silver ($7,000) for her salted caramel hemp macaroons, while Jeremy Silcox of Mr. Biltong Beef Jerky Company won bronze ($4,000) for his Biltong and Stokkies.
