November 23 – 26 | Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival
The 15th annual Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival kicked off Thursday, and there’s plenty going on. Celebrating the best Indigenous cinema from Canada and around the world, the festival features a stellar lineup of speakers, events and screenings, including the must-see, multiple-award-winning Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked The World (Saturday at 1 p.m.). November 23 – 26 | Signatures Craft Show & Sale
From Thursday through Sunday, more than 150 Canadian artisans (including a ton of local talent) take over the RBC Convention Centre for the 38th annual Signatures Craft Show. November 24 | ATLAAS Star Party: Soft EP Launch | 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Local electro-R&B group ATLAAS is combing the “locals only” release of their latest EP with a live musical performance, live visual editing, and cool lighting at the Manitoba Museum’s Planetarium. November 24 + 25 | Aboriginal Arts & Crafts Sale
With the holidays fast approaching, the 7th annual Aboriginal Arts + Crafts Sale is the perfect place to find some unique gifts and support our local Indigenous artists. November 25 | Half Moon Market Holiday Show | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On Saturday, The Kingshead Pub plays host to the Half Moon Market, where you can enjoy local beer and good wine among the work of 25+ local artisans. For more information visit the Facebook event page.
November 25 | Pet Photos With Santa | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For the second straight weekend, Santa Claus is in town – this time to take photos with your pups. This Saturday, Winnipeg Animal Services (1057 Logan Ave.) will let your pooch pose with Saint Nick for yet another mantle-worthy shot of your fur baby/best friend. It costs $10 for a photo, with proceeds going to a great cause. The event will also feature a craft and bake sale onsite. For more information visit the Facebook event page.
November 25 + 26 | Third + Bird Christmas Market
On Saturday and Sunday, Third + Bird offers up yet another opportunity to shop small and support local. Setting up shop at the historic Hudson’s Bay building downtown, the 9th annual Christmas Market will feature food, wine, live music and 130+ of Manitoba’s top makers.
