September 1 | Alleyways Market in The Exchange | 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Get your shop on and support local at the summer’s final Alleyways Market in the Exchange District. Taking over the back lane at Elgin Avenue, some of our city’s best vendors will be serving up a winning mix of handmade goods, ready-to-eat snacks and fresh, locally-produced food.
Note: Due to inclement weather, the market has been postponed until Friday, Sept. 8.
September 1 | Wall-to-Wall Mural + Culture Festival Opening | 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Over the course of of September, 13 contemporary art murals will be popping up across the city and this is where it all begins. Head over to The Tallest Poppy (685 Westminster Ave.) for the opening of Wall-to-Wall Mural & Culture Festival, where they’ll be celebrating a brand new public art text piece by Kate Vermette (painted by Bridget of The Travelling Sign Painters), with live music and a DJ dance party. Cover is $5, with drinks and food available.
September 1-7 | Le Burger Week
It’s baaack! Since it began in 2012, Le Burger Week has become one of the city’s favourite culinary festivals. When else do you have the chance – or rather, the duty – to chow down on as many delicious, mouthwatering burgers as you can, and then vote for your favourites? This year, more than 100 Winnipeg restaurants are participating, so feel free to put that diet off for another week.
September 2 | A dip with your dog
The Happyland wading pool on Marion Street and the Bruce Park wading pool on Portage Avenue are allowing dogs to cool off with a swim before they shut down for the summer. Dogs under 30 pounds can swim from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while dogs 30 pounds and over will have the pools from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All pooches must have a valid City of Winnipeg licence and mustbe registered to play in the pools. Registration can be completed by contacting 311.
September 3 | Manitoba Night Market | 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
After a hugely successful turnout on July 16, the Manitoba Night Market & Festival is back for another night of fun. The event takes place at Assiniboia Downs and features buskers, artisans, kid’s activities, microbreweries, beer gardens, food trucks and more than 100 local vendors. And fireworks!!

If you want to get out of the city for the last long weekend of summer, we don’t blame you. Take advantage of free entry to all provincial parks and enjoy the great outdoors with a hike, bike ride, swim or camping trip (camping fees still apply).
