Winnipeg's getting a new vegetarian health cafe

Since opening at The Forks in 2012, Generation Green has become Winnipeg’s go-to shop for all things natural. This winter they’re taking things to the next level.

In addition to moving their store and doubling their space, they’ll be opening an in-store vegetarian health cafe.

According to owner Sherry Sobey, the Acorn Cafe will offer up a unique menu and allow customers to “try before they buy.” It will be located in their new space at 443 Main St. (corner of Bannatyne Avenue), which will celebrate its Grand Reopening on Nov. 3.

“I loved the analogy of an acorn in naming the cafe,” Sobey wrote in a blog post announcing plans for the cafe. “Tiny acorns grow to become mighty oak trees, and this is really how I feel about Generation Green as a whole. We started with an idea, a few products, and then grew to a local staple now doubling our size.”

The cafe is expected to open in January 2018. Give them a follow on Facebook and Instagram to stay in the loop.
