Sip Your Way Into Spring At The Winnipeg Wine Festival: April 29 - May 5

Whether you’re a seasoned sommelier or a casual weekend wine drinker, have we got news for you.

From April 29 to May 5, the Winnipeg Wine Festival is back for another whole week of sipping, socializing and celebration. And just in time for spring!

Things kick off April 29 with the first of 10 themed WineDown events, like the Poplar Grove Winemaker’s Dinner at Pizzeria Gusto, California Crush (a journey through Cali’s wines) at Club Regent, Salute! (a celebration of Italian wine) at De Luca’s, Down Under (featuring wines from Australia and New Zealand) at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the Red Rooster Dinner at Fusion Grill and more.

There’s also the Cena di gala on May 3, which will celebrate the wines of Italy with nine different vinos paired with an exquisite five-course menu prepared by the RBC Convention Centre’s executive chef Quentin Hardy. There will also be live and silent auctions throughout the evening, with prizes including epicurean getaways, unique culinary experiences and extremely rare wines.

But the annual highlight of the Winnipeg Wine Festival is always the public tastings.

On May 4 and 5, the RBC Convention Centre is hosting a series of sessions where you can sample 440+ wines from 117 wineries and 12 countries. Many of the wines will be available in Manitoba for the first time and exclusive to the festival. Tickets for the tastings are available at Winnipeg Liquor Marts for $64.95 or online for $73 (VIP experiences with early entry, lounge access and other perks are also available).
