Hermanos: South American flavour at its finest
Winnipeg is known for having one of the most vibrant food scenes in Canada, and Hermanos is one of the independent restaurants that make it so. With its casual but sensual ambience, dining at the Exchange District hot spot (whether inside or on the beautiful street-facing patio) is a great way to experience amazing South American cuisine.
The Hermanos menu is diverse, and they offer everything from speciality steaks and tapas to elevated pasta and gourmet seafood. Each dish is prepared with fresh and authentic ingredients to give customers a true sense of South American culture.
If we had to recommend one lunch or late night dish to a friend, it would have to be the Chivito. This traditional Uruguayan sandwich is made with premium shaved Angus beef, provolone cheese, smoked country ham, bacon, olives, hard boiled egg, onion, lettuce, banana peppers, and aioli served on a fresh bun with crispy house chips.
If you’re anything like us, you simply can’t finish a meal without something sweet. While everything on the extensive dessert menu tastes just as good as it looks, their most popular treat is the Black Gold, and for good reason: it’s made with dense, gluten-free callebaut chocolate cake, topped with a scoop of dulce de leche gelato.
Because you can never have too much of a good thing, Hermanos is opening a sister restaurant, Hermanita, at 725 Osborne on July 14. No matter which location you go to, We Heart Winnipeg members get 15% off one tapas item and one beer, or 25% off one dessert and one specialty coffee.
