The Store Next Door: Choice goodies with a focus on local
If you’ve had the pleasure of dining at Chew – or meeting owners Kristen Chemerika and Kyle Lew – you know all about their attention to detail, commitment to quality and love for local.
You get more of the same (and then some) at The Store Next Door.
Located in the same building as the restaurant, the shop is stocked with everything from essential ingredients to specialty items (bacon butter and truffle oil!) and a huge selection of local goodies from businesses like Bee Project, Smak Dab, Crampton’s, Flora & Farmer, Manitoba Maid, Mud + Stone, Farmer’s Son, Nature’s Farm and Pop Cart.
The bakery alone is worth a visit. Serving up fresh breads, buttery croissants, delicious scones and a whole lot more, there are plenty of pairings for your morning (or anytime!) coffee. And don’t forget your sweet tooth. The tarts, cookies, danishes, cakes and everything else Chew dreams up are next-level.
What truly sets the shop apart though, is their pre-made meals. From salads and soups to appetizers and main courses (Truffle Mac N Cheese, anyone?), you can enjoy some of Chew’s most popular dishes from the comfort of your own kitchen. Insider’s tip: they also make a great and easy way to totally impress dinner guests.
Whether you pop in for a coffee to go, browse the shelves for dinner ideas or decide to sit down and stay a while, The Store Next Door will give you first-rate service and make you feel more than welcome. So pop by, say hello and shop where the chefs shop. We Heart Winnipeg members also get a free bag of beet chips when they spend $75, so go hungry and get your local on!
